I am a Type 1 Diabetic. This morning I ate 1 egg and 1 glass of milk 2% (12 oz.) at 8:00 am and took my morning shot of 20 units of R insulin, I experienced a low sugar reaction at 10:45 am that left me literally unable to walk to the refrigerator to obtain a coke from the refrigerator. I had to crawl to the fridge to get the coke and after drinking 1 coke (12 oz) I laid in front of the fridge for about 20 minutes and woke up and drank another coke which after 15 minutes allowed me to get up off the floor and get in bed to rest. All day I have experienced severe pain in my neck like I have been in a car accident. Is this normal or what?
Since they are totally dependent upon insulin for survival, and already taking treatment with regular and longer acting insulin, they are more prone for going for hypoglycemia.
Thirdly you need to take the adequate dietary precautions, so that it is balanced and correlate with the insulin dosages so that they avoid hypoglycemia.
Thanks
