What Causes Low Pusle Rate After Taking Myrbetriq?

My wife changed from the medication of Oxybutine to Myrbetriq about 8 days ago for an overactive bladder. Her pulse used to average 60 beats/minute but 3 days after starting Myrbetriq, the pulse has gone down to 50-52 beats/minute. Could this be a side effect of the Myrbetriq? Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Myrbetric does not cause slow heart rate, rather because of its anti muslcarinic effect, it may cause high pulse and high blood pressure.

So it's unlikely to be related to the drug, though it's not an emergency if he feels well I would suggest to go to the doctor and get an ECG done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
