What Causes Low Platelet Count In A 2 Year Old?

Hi my 2 ½ year old daughter suffering from low platelets counts. And blood gets clots very easily if she got any normal hert. It was 5000 a month ago and after consulting doctor and he has give some medicine for 3 weeks and asked to not to continue the medicine. Now her counts are around 33000. how long it may take to reach the normal level?

Hi, welcome to HCM.
Low platelet count In a 2 and half year child could be due to ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura).
You must have been given steroids to increase platelet count.
Platelet count should be repeated 2 weekly and further treatment depends on the platelet count.
It usually takes 1 month time if the acute crisis is over.
