What Causes Low Libido And Recurrent Vaginal Infection?

I used a vaginal detox pearl several months ago. I had an allergic reaction and had to go to the urgent care for antibiotics. Every since then my g spot and urethra has not gone down to its normal size. Plus my sex drive is lowered. I get yeast infection easily also. Do you have an idea of what happened?

Thanks for contacting with your health concern

A.
1. Cause of recurrent vaginal infection [candidal vulvovaginitis] could be due to the treatment of the symptoms in the vagina only without addressing the source of the yeast infection [which is usually in the gut] and that might be happening in your case and also using vaginal detox pearl [as medicine] might have caused more irritation and discomfort.

PS. If the infection is recurrent some of the causes [for exhaustive list kindly consult your physician] which are to be excluded are diabetes, the patient taking broad-spectrum antibiotics, oral contraceptives, diet high in sugar, hormonal imbalance, being overweight, low immunity, stress etc].It is always best to get tested by a qualified GYN/OBG Doctor since the needed treatment for each type of infection can be different.

2. If no systemic cause is found it could be due to yeast infection in the vagina only, such as not maintaining good hygiene, use of feminine products [harsh soaps, scented wipes or tampons], and if this comes out to be the cause then

- maintain good hygiene, avoid clothes that ake the area moist, prefer cotton undergarments, make sure to keep the area clean and dry, use organic tampons/pads, avoid a long hot bath.

- practice safe sex [since it is possible to get it from someone who might have yeast infection]

B.
Loss of libido can either be physical [ underactive thyroid, women approaching menopause, anemia, or substance abuse] OR Psychological [depression, stress or relationship problems] check with your attending OBG/GYN doctor to exclude that whether any of the factor(s) are causing the same so that the management can be initiated, there and then.
