What Causes Low BP Along With Poor Peripheral Vision?
I am taking Zioptan for a few days, averaging a blood pressure of 94/60 in this range. I was on Brimonidine eye drops for two weeks, average 103/68. I asked my optometrist to change because of the low blood pressure. I see her on March 1. I was thinking of just going back on the Brimonidine until then, or should I ask for another medication. My blood pressure tends to run naturally low. Also is low blood pressure causing more peripheral eye damage? How low is too low blood pressure?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Brimonidine eye drops are used for lowering intraocular pressure. If you do have glaucoma, then your peripheral vision could be low because of that. I would recommend you to undergo a perimetry to evaluate how much peripheral vision you have.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
