What Causes Light Period?

Hello, My tubes are tied, and I didn t have a normal menstrual cycle. It looked dried up and only lasted two days. I went to the ER and had a urine test and it came back negative. I normally have my cycle in the beginning of the month and it last 7 days. I ve been regular since I had my daughter in 2008, what could be the issue?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.You should be worried but not too much. Your menstrual changes following tubal ligation is probably because of aging or stopping birth control pills, but not because of the surgery. Tubal ligation will not cause hormonal changes. I suggest
- decrease stress situations;
- check TTH,T3,T4,because thyroid disorder can cause menstrual changes;
- control estradiol and progesteron,low level of it can be cause. You can discuss this with your treating Doctor.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
