What Causes Light Headedness Along With Dizziness While On Tizanidine?

How long does tizanidine ( been taking 4mgs a day for 14 days) stay in your body, is it cumulative( like Arava) I stopped taking it 2 days ago because severe dizziness, lightheadness, nausea, no appetite problem with visual focus. This lasted all day, lessened 80% next day. Today headache , slight dizziness. Have RA & mild CP right hemiperesis & have been on biologics, dmards, NSAIDs for many years.

Anesthesiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, Tizanidine has the following side effects like dizziness, weakness, blurred vision, increased sleepiness, constipation and vomiting. Thus, your side effects are due to tizanidine and slowly as tizanidine levels come down, side effects will subside.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
