Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear Babu,
I presume your dad was admitted with Some gastroenterology infection. Generally speaking, in a diabetic patient the blood sugars tend to fluctuate with some kind of infection and stress. So accordingly the dose of medicines is adjusted to control blood sugars. Once the patient recovers and is back home the stress of admission comes down and slowly the patient returns back to normal. At this point of time there is a chance that the dosage of medicines were a little high. I would suggest you to check his blood sugars regularly and fine tune his medications. I am sure he will be perfectly fine.
