What Causes Lethargy After Taking Valtrex For Treatment Of Shingles?

Been diagnosed with mild case of shingles and treated with Valtrex. Skin erosions healed but virus has left me with a lack of energy and I sleep 12 hours per night. I am an otherwise healthy 55 year old male. Is this normal. Prior to eruption of shingles rash I had lab studies (chem panal, CBC, Lyme disease, mono) and all results were within normal range

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Am happy to hear your skin erosion has been taken care of.Lack of energy and sleepiness could be side effects of Valtrex. These are some of the described side effects of the drug and should not make you worried.Just rest well, eat well and balanced and observe. If the problem continues, you see your Doctor for evaluation.
Hope my answer will help you
