General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Lesions in the corpus callosum commonly occur due to demyelinating disease, genetic defect (agenesis of corpus callosum), MS, aggressive tumors, demyelination, and traumatic brain injury. Lesions in the corpus callosum cause problems in integrating motor, sensory, and cognitive performances between the cerebral cortex on one side of the brain to the same region on the other side.

Thus, you may experience symptoms like pain, numbness, weakness on the area affected. Left untreated it may cause worsening of the symptoms like mental disorders, pseudobulbar palsy, speech and movement ataxia, etc. Get all required investigations and blood tests done at the earliest. Get clinically examined by a Neurosurgeon and get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
