What Causes Left Sided Chest Pain?

hello, I'm 21, very active, i play tennis, gym, soccer etc,not really any medical history to note, always been very healthy. recently I have been having slight chest pains now and then, nothing major, however about 3 weeks ago I was doing sit ups in the gym, i did about ten and then felt a very intense pain in my chest, around the sternum. It was so baad i could not move or push myself up to stand up and I had to wait a few minutes for it to go down before I could move. Since then It has been hurting on and off, the pain varies from the left side to the right of my chest. Any idea what this could be?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of musculoskeletal pain due to pulled music during exercise is more.
So better to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Avoid movements causing pain.
3. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
4. Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
5. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
Don't worry, you will be alright. Follow all these for 10-15 days. After this you can gradually resume your routine.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
