Hi there and thanks for sharing your healthcare concern with HCM.
It sounds as though you have something called a
seroma (collection of fluid that builds up under the skin near the incision site after surgery). This fluid takes a long time to build up, sometimes, even many months after surgery. In your case, I suspect that your expanding
uterus has forced the seroma to come to the surface of your skin (hence the hard lump) and discharge its contents.
Seromas can be a problem if they get infected. Symptoms of infection include:
the lump growing painful
the discharge becoming pus-like and foul-smelling
low grade fever
Occasionally, seromas can dry up and harden. Sometimes, they might have to be drained by your doctor to prevent trouble. As you are pregnant, infection can pose a problem.
Therefore, you need to appraise your antenatal care provider of this lump urgently so that they can examine you and discuss the best course of action to prevent infection.
Thanks and all the best.
