What Causes Large Amount Of Mucus In Stool?

I have been having large amounts of mucus with my stool, and sometimes I only produce mucus even when I feel like I need to have a bowel movement. Occasionally there has been a small amount of blood. Should I be concerned?
I am a 39 year old female. 135 pounds. Good health
