What Causes Itchy Throat And Ear And Vaginal Cramps During Pregnancy?

Hello! I am 7 weeks pregnant, and am quite healthy and active... although, for the past 2 days my throat, ears are itchy, i have some on/off severe cramping in vagina and pelvic area...now body aches...could it be something harmful? or just a flu while being pregnant?

Hello and I hope I can help you today.

Unfortunately being pregnant does not prevent you from getting sick like anyone else. It is most likely you are suffering from the beginning of a cold or flu. This is not dangerous for the baby as the baby is protected in your womb.

It is not unusual to feel cramping in your uterus in the early part of normal pregnancy. Being dehydrated can make the cramping worse. Try to drink lots of fluids as much as you can. As long as you have no bleeding with the cramping this also is not dangerous for the baby.

I hope I adequately answered your question today and that my advice was helpful.

Best wishes for the pregnancy, Dr. Brown
