What Causes Itchy Rashes All Over The Body?
HI , Help! my wife and I have a rash all over our bodies, it looks like little pock marks, we have both had this for about 3 weeks, the itching is unbearable. My wife went to a walk in clinic and they said it is not bug bites. Regardless we have steam cleaned our mattress 2x and washed all our linen and clothes 3x, last time in hot water only and no drier sheets. we have steam cleaned our carpets 3x and are thinking of doing it again with just hot water. I have most of the rash on my legs and arms and some around the groin area, my wife has it everywhere. I have never been allergic to anything before and I am 56 years old. My wife has excema and skin problems are an ongoing thing, but never like this. Any ideas?

Hi.
As per your case history you and your wife are suffering from fungal infection called as tinea corporis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily.
2. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on affected skin.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching.
4. Other treatment options are oral fluconazole, itraconazole and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
