Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Itchiness All Over The Body After Removing The Gall Bladder?
My mother was removed her gallbladder and had undergone surgery on intestinal adhesions last month now she is suffering from intensive itching all over her body.please what is the cause of itching and which biochemical test should be performed?greetings
If she has pimples that cause the itchiness she might have a skin condition causing it and visiting a doctor will help determine the diagnosis. In this case eczema, allergy, reaction to medications, or infections (viral or parasite infections) can be the cause.
If the itchiness happens without skin lesions then she will need to do some liver tests, kidney tests, CBC to rule out iron deficiency, thyroid examination (TSH, FT4), ERS, etc.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
