What Causes Irregular Periods?

I had my period two weeks ago I am bleeding again this never happened before. when it started it was heavy and now you only see it When I go to the bathroom. It is scaring me because I don t know what is going on with my body. I have a little pain in my stomach like when my period comes on

Frequent periods happen due to several causes--when there is a hormone imbalance as in PCOS, sudden weight changes, when there is some pelvic infection, when there is frequent ovulation, due to certain medications like Rifampicin, due to use of hormone medications etc. The exact cause can be known only through complete investigation that includes clinical evaluation, blood counts, hormone profile, pelvic/trans-vaginal sonogram.
