What Causes Irregular Menstruation?

My period is really inconsistent over the past two years. They would come only once in a few months and now they re back again. This time it lasted for a month, sometimes just a few drops but sometimes it soaks through the pad. I did an ultrasound, it said my uterus was clean but my left ovary was 20cc. What is going on?

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. In the current scenario, you seem to be experiencing hormone imbalance. Your ovary size is increased and if any cysts are seen inside, further evaluation is needed. You also need a complete hormone profile, blood counts and urinalysis. Please maintain a healthy weight, regular exercise and a healthy diet. You may need a couple of hormone courses to set the cycles on track. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
