What Causes Irregular Menstruation After An Abortion?

Hi doc, I had terminated my first pregnancy after marriage. It was 5 days bleeding. After that I was fine. Bt now, after a month, I didn t get my periods. Doc suggested me to take duphaston for 5 days bt after completing the duphaston course it is 5 days nd period is not coming. Now m very much worried what should I do now.please help.

Hi,

Irregular periods are not that much common after an abortion. It may can happen sometimes due to incomplete abortion or sometimes due to associated infection after abortion.

You can consult your gynecologist and get an ultrasound scan and a urine pregnancy test again to rule out any retained bits and incomplete abortion. Wishing you good health.
