What Causes Irregular Heart Rate In A Person With History Of Heart Stroke?

A neighbor is having an irregular heart rate, it has happened before. By the time she gets to the hospital it is normal. They think it is intermittent atrial fib. She also has had a mild stroke in the past. BP is within her normal range. How long do you think she should wait before going to the ER. No SOB or chest pain.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
Atrial fibrillation needs treatment only when Heart rate is more than 80 beats Per minute. In that case heart rate should be controlled.
I would like to do her ECG, ECHo and possible EPS studies to look for cause and site of abnormal foci.
Hope it helps best.
