What Causes Intermittent Dizziness In An Elderly Person?

Hello...my husband (age 62) has been suffering with some bouts of dizziness this week (has happened about 4 or 5 times) to the point of almost passing out. He is in good health, exercises, good diet, good weight, etc. He feels that it may be related to stress (at work) and poor sleeping. Any thoughts...Thank you.Lynn Higgins

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
No doubt your husband is having very good health , wealth and do daily exercise .
Still he is having dizziness , his age is 62 years , so we should think about the reason of dizziness.
1 Hypoglycemia ( low sugar ) or hyperglycemia ( high ) . Diagnosis can be confirmed by simple blood sugar level examination.
2 Hypertension or hypotension ( high or low blood pressure ) . Diagnosis can be confirmed B P examination on three consecutive days .
3 Tension or stress is another such cause .
However in this age vertigo may be the cause ( due to ear involvement ).
In spite of good health please deal as mentioned above.
