What Causes Intermittent Diarrhea And Lower Left Side Abdominal Pain?

I have had diarrhea off and on for the past three or four days. Yesterday I began experiencing pain in my lower left side whenever I twist to the right to wipe myself after going to the bathroom. It only hurts when I twist and it is very painful to the point of me feeling out of breath when I have to wipe myself. I don t see how it could be a pulled muscle since I did not do anything. What could be causing this pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Sometimes any unaccustomed situation can lead muscle strain and pain can be there. So you can apply hot compress over that.

The anti-inflammatory medication also can be prescribed for that for five days. Avoid movement that aggravates pain.

You will mostly improve in 3-5 days. If diarrhoea comes again than stool analysis should be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
