What Causes Inflamed And Swollen Tonsils?

so my tonsils seem to be red and sometimes my seems to be swollen and makes me feel like im choaking. i have a neck injury from 3 months ago and my neck may be out of alignment. other that then. there is nothing else i see that could be connected to that area. not sick. no sore throat. no fever. no ear pain. nothing

Hi,

As per your query you have inflamed and swollen tonsils which seems to be due to sore throat along with tonsillitis. This can occur due to bacterial as well as viral infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you consult ENT specialist for proper checkup. The doctor may order a certain test to confirm the diagnosis and may prescribe an antiviral drug like acyclovir along with an antihistamine. The doctor may also recommend tonsillectomy if tonsil will interfere with the normal functioning of pharynx and treatment will not going to work. Do warm saline gargles on daily basis and avoid outside food.
