What Causes Hoarseness, Protruding Eyeball And Profuse Sweating After Taking Prednisone?

Diagnosed with acute thyroiditis this past Friday put on 60mg qd of prednisone. Blood draw tomorrow for titration dose. Have hoarseness and bulging eye balls and profuse perspiring since starting prednisone. Are these side effects of prednisone or thyroiditis?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have problem of thyroditid and you were prescribed with prednisone , now you have symptoms like hoarsness of voice , protruding eyeball and profuse sweating . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query but it seems to me that the symptoms are probably occurring due to thyroiditis and not due to prednisone . I would suggest you to consult your doctor again without any delay . Doctor may refer you to cardiologist if he/she find this problem to be related ith heart or later the dose of prednisone or prescribed some substitute .
