What Causes Hives All Over Body Post Hernia Repair?
Hello, I had a hernia repair 2 weeks ago. Due to previous issues they had to cut me open, about a 10 inch incision. For the last 3 days I have been breaking out In a rash. Thought it was hives at first but it has spread and I now have it all over by body, except around the incision. Some of it has turned to blisters and a lot of it has swollen my feel hands and knees. It is very miserable. Is this common after surgery? I spent 4 days in the hospital? What can I do for it? I am allergic to antihistamines so I can t take Benadryl. I am currently using a cortisone cream but that help is very short lived. Thank you

You are having an allergic reaction to some kind of medication. You need to get back to your operating surgeon for further advice. He will be able to guide you about your further line of management.
