What Causes High Cardiolipid Level?

I recently had blood test and was told the cardiolipid level was high (23). What might cause this? I'm a 47 year old woman. I initially went to ENT for earringing, had an MRI that suggested I may have an autoimmune problem, then had the bloodwork done by a rheumatologist -- everything ok, except that cardiolipid antibody level.

Hi
Thanks for your query
Based on your query, my opinion is
1. Cardiolipin is an antibody detected in autoimmune disorders, that is in a condition in which host tissue acts as foreign, so these antibodies react with host to cause damage.
2. Many a times its raise is non specific, that is it means nothing exactly.
3. In presence of a disease its levels are significant. Used for monitoring the progress of disease.
4. However in your case it is not significant as you are asymptomatic and other tests are negative
5. If you show up with complaints like joint pains/ fever/ muscle aches do seek medical care.
For now its not of concern.
Hope this helps
Regards
