What Causes High SGOT Levels In A Non-alcoholic Person?
Hi,My mom did blood test in which her spgt and sgot is showing ..spgt is 63 and shot is 53. She is a Alzheimer patient and is on medication, so from past 2 days she is not sleeping properly. After explaining this to the doctor, he said to do blood test in which spgt and sgot is showing. My mom don t drink. How is this possible for person who is not a alcoholic can t be diagnosed by this. Let me know how and cure for this.Regards Rohit

mr rohit ...as you can see from lab reports that sgpt and sgot are mildly raised above normal limits ..had it been two times above level then it would have been thing to worry please see that majority of drugs and non liver diaseses also raise sgpt sgot i suppose the level of bilirubin ..serum albumin ..serum proteins must have been in normal range so please discuss with doctor her medicines may be behind these mild increases and there is no need to treat these mild increases .. if you have any further query you can contact us on this site ..i will help you with regards dr varinder joshi
