What Causes Hematuria In Diabetes?

Hello Doctor, Two weeks back my father has blood in urine.He is above 50 yrs of age and has been diabetic for 10 yrs.He is taking medicines prescribed by one of the specialsts in Tirupathi.Could you pls suugest what would the cause of this?and pls suugest for any he needs to undergo.Looking for your valuable suggestions. i can understand your concern
this complaint of haematuria in called blood in urine
there are many causes which can cause haematuria most common being the stone in kidney and ureter.
in the age of your father we need to rule out conditions like
1.urinary tract infections
2.prostate hypertrophy
3.bladder cancer(rare possibility)
check for ultrasound abdomen and cystoscopy
in tirupathi there is one nephorologist called Dr Hitishi in manasa kidney foundation in K t road ,she is an expert in handling this kind of cases i suggest you to visit her and she will do needful.
form diabetes point of view keeping tight control is very important
