What Causes Hematoma During The Delivery Of The Baby?

I birthed an 11+lb baby in Phoenix in 1996. I developed the largest hematoma the staff had ever seen just prior to delivery and agreed to have it photographed for medical education. It was larger than my big husbands large fist. I was told it would be seen/studied in a medical text book. I am interested in knowing whether that ever took place. I was assured of absolute privacy, so am wondering if I could even locate the photo...what do you think?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

I would say it is extremely difficult to find the picture as there are numerous text books and numerous medical catalogs and magazines. Even more as your case could have been discussed in an obstetric and gynecology text or a surgical text or even a bleeding related text. These subjects in themselves can have at least 10000 books to look into. I have personally not come accross a case similar to yours so far in any texts.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
