What Causes Heartburn After Started Taking Microgynon?
I started taking Microgynon on Sunday and have had heartburn every day (particularly in the evening) since Tuesday. A large quite fatty meal (salmon fillet with lots of garlic butter sauce and wine) seemed to trigger it, but I haven t over-eaten since and so I don t see why I should continue getting it. I am not overweight (about 145 lbs and 5 8 ) and I eat quite healthily, I ve also taken a pregnancy test which has come up as negative (there was a small possibility). I would also like to say that I m not at all prone to heartburn - I ve suffered from it on maybe 1 or 2 occasions in my entire life until the last few days. Is the pill to blame do you think? I would also like to point out that I have just returned from a cycling holiday and, although I didn t diet (there was a lot of wine/ cheese and even pancakes) I was eating slightly less.

As you mentioned that you were at holiday , ate so many type foods and also drank wine , taking Microgynon .
In the evening feeling heart burn , may be due to hyper acidity .
Possibilities may be any food items or microgynon .
Take some antacid but if symptoms are severe take drugs like pantoprazole -d once in day on empty stomach till complete cure .
however , Microgynon produces some nausea and causes gastritis but this is for short period and doses will adjust after some time.
Avoid spicy food and drinks with caffeine in them , also avoid alcohol .
