Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Palpitations is common during exertion or heightened emotion/ anxiety/ excitement (sympathetic over activity) or sometimes lying on Lt side.It may be most noticeable in bed at night when external visual and auditory inputs are minimum and visceral sensations are prominent In patients with panic disorders and other anxiety states, the sensation of palpitations may occur during periods of normal rate and rhythm. Palpitations can also be due to excessive coffee, tea, alcohol . Endocrine causes like phaeochromocytoma, thyrotoxicosis, hypoglycaemia can give rise to intermittent palpitations when ECG may remain normal in the intervening symptom free period. Concor (Bisoprolol) is highly beta 1-selective beta-adrenoceptor antagonist with low beta2-receptor affinity & reduces the heart rate.Beta-adrenoceptor antagonist is prescribed in anxiety states to relieve symptoms.
