What Causes Heart Murmur?

Hello my mum is nearly 90 and had a fall last week she was in hospital and was told she has a heart murmur. She now has very rosy cheeks and she thinks she is dying. I ve heard if somebody is near the end of their life and poorly this could be a sign. She s now stopped eating and only drinks very little.

I am sorry for what happened to your mother.

Heart murmur is also hereditary and might have been there all the time. We can confirm this if we compare the actual echocardiogram findings with those she might have had before.

Rosy cheeks are a sign of possible raise in her blood pressure (bp). The accident she had last week (a fall) might have caused damages to the point of making her weak and any suspecting any internal hemorrhage (bleeding).
Clinical examination, ultrasound and urine analysis can be of help.

Get her blood pressure checked regularly, and record the results for further evaluation. Give time to her to regain strength.
