ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi Mr Hari, post tymphano mastoidectomy the disease progression will be stopped but the hearing status either status quo or reduced. the reasons are
thick graft,
disease destroying the conductive system,
toxins destroying the cochlear fibrills .
You try to understand that nothing replaces the normal one. it stops the ear discharge by closing the hole in ear drum. if you want you can have hearing aid . Discuss with your surgeon. Take care
