What Causes Headaches And Low Body Temperature?

I have recently been experiencing headaches. Also, my body temp has been averaging below 98.6 for several months. I have been taking my temp over the past 10 days, at different times each day and the average has been 96.49 F with a low of 94.7 F and a high of 97.8 F. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There are many possible causes of headaches and low body temperature. Some possible causes of headaches include tension headaches, migraines, sinus infections, dehydration, and certain medications. Low body temperature (hypothermia) can be caused by exposure to cold weather, certain medications, medical conditions that affect the thyroid gland or adrenal glands, and metabolic disorders.

It is important to see a healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms. Your healthcare provider may recommend further testing, such as blood tests or imaging studies, to help determine the cause of your headaches and low body temperature.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
