What Causes Headache, Fatigue, Cramping, Tender Breasts And Very Light Period?

Over the past three weeks i have been having pregnancy symptoms. Headaches, fatigue, cramping (too early to be period cramps) food aversions, especially to fish and grease. I had tender breasts for a few days then the pain subsided. i have just finished a three day period which was light, it was three days late and I spotted for two days before it started. Usually my periods are 5-6 days long and generaly heavy. I am still cramping and getting headaches. Am I pregnant?

Hello and welcome,

The symptoms you mention are not specific for pregnancy and may result from a lot of disorders like premenstrual syndrome, anemia, infection, vision problems, stress, gastric upset and so on.

The lighter than usual period is significant and may be an implantation bleed. The best way to know if you are pregnant is by getting a urine test after 7 days using the first morning urine sample.

If this is negative this is not pregnancy. Minor hormonal imbalance and inadequate luteal phase [ minor hormonal disturbance after ovulation] or cervical polyps or erosions may also produce spotting.

To rule out premenstrual syndrome keep a menstrual diary and note which symptoms come at what time of the menstrual cycle. Do this for 3-4 months. If there is a pattern then it may be premenstrual syndrome. It can be treated by using oral contraceptive pills or evening primrose oil after consulting your doctor.
So as of now, get a urine pregnancy test after 7 days and then if it is negative keep a menstrual diary.

Hope this satisfies your query.
