What Causes Headache And Body Aches After Weaning From Celexa?

I am trying to wean off of Celexa-the Dr. cut my dosage from 40 mg daily to 20mg. Ever since I have had headaches, lethargia, body aches, and inability to concentrate. Maybe the cut in dosage was to drastic-what should I do while waiting for my appointment next week?

hi,
Celexa 40 mg is a high dose for someone with depression. So when you are deprived 50% of the drug, you experience withdrawal symptoms typically described by you.
The tapering should be gradual. I would recommend to restart 40 mg till you visit your doctor and ask for gradual withdrawal fro 40-30-20-10 mg over a period of 6 months or to your tolerable capacity. This smooth withdrawal should be little bothersome to you.
Hope this helped.
