General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Tremor (shaking) in hands can be caused by different causes. A common one is stress. Also, other causes are essential tremors, alcohol-related tremor and more rarely a problem in the cerebellum or the thyroid gland but the most common causes are essential tremor and stress which are both benign and nothing to worry.

Your daughter needs a good visit with the doctor including a good neurologic exam to rule out problems with the brain (cerebellum as well) and sometimes some basic blood tests can be done like liver function tests, kidney function, electrolytes, TSH and also blood sugar (which she has been checking already).

According to the findings, the doctor will decide on the likely cause of the symptoms and give the proper treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
