What Causes Frequent Urination After Having Unsafe Sex?

Well me and my boyfriend just recently had sex without a condom and I let him finish inside me. Now I'm peeing a whole lot more than usual and sometimes when I go pee there is just a little bit of fluids that just comes out. And I'm on birth control for about 14 days now. Is there anything wrong with me?

Hello,
I have gone through the query and understood your concern. Firstly, the female urethra is short and hence, is easily exposed to infection/inflammation, especially during a rough intercourse. Most often, this is relieved by urinary antispasmodics and urinary alkalinisers. Antibiotics are rarely needed. You can get a urinalysis to exclude infection and take the help of your health care provider. Secondly, the first 2-3 cycles after initiation of a hormone contraceptive are not safe as there are chances of continued ovulation and hence, additional protection is needed. Hope this helps.
