Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Swelling In Both The Feet Of An High BP Patient?
My boyrfriends feet keep sweeling up both of them. After a couple of days elevating his feet and drinking cranberry juice it goes awayl. but it comes back again, he has high blood pressure and i suspect he is drinking alcohol what do you think it could be?
It is dependent edema and is due to high blood pressure or drugs used for the treatment of blood pressure. Keep the feet elevated and use compression socks.
If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. We have to rule out other causes like a renal failure as it can cause similar symptoms. In severe cases, drugs like Lasix may be required.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
