What Causes Fluid Gushing Sound In Ear And Crackling Sound While Swallowing?

i don t have any pain in my ear, but i have been hearing a few noises. i hear crackling when i swallow and when the room is silent, i can hear a light swishing of fluid in my right ear when i shake my head side-to-side or up and down. i don t seem to have a loss in hearing though. i have had water in my ear before and this doesn t sound like this. my hearing seems normal other than the crackling and swishing.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query slight swishing of fluid in my right ear and crackling while swallowing occurs due to condition known as eustachian tube dysfunction . There can be other reasons also like ear wax and otitis media. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination and discuss the above two possibilities. Doctor may clean the ear to remove ear wax . or prescribe antibiotics for at least 10 days along with decongestants. Doctor should also give proper treatment for cold and flu , because these can be contributing factors in causing ear infection . Keep your ears dry , cover them while bathing and keep warm compresses on external ear 2-3 times a day , it will evaporate water from ear.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
