What Causes Floaters In Right Eye?

tonight, all of a sudden, my right eye has some big floaters, and my vision got cloudy, with tiny specks, like sand, some specks are black, others seem faded and a shadow of the black specks; when sitting in front of computer screen, covering one eye, this is more apparent--vision in right eye seems faded, with the tiny specks and large floaters, covered in cloudy haze. I thought I had a stroke, but doesn t seem to be. I wear contact lenses, over the past week had extreme physical exhaustion from yard work cutting trees and fall clean up. I am male, 62 years old. It this a retina tear or detachment? Is this an emergency?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having sudden onset of floaters. In your age group retinal tear has to be ruled out. An early treatment will prevent development of retinal detachment if there is retinal tear.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
