What Causes Feeling Of Obstruction In The Throat?

doctor, for the past one week i am having a feeling of obstruction in my throat. i feel no pain, burning or itching.
i just feel that there is something stuck in my throat. the feeling is there all the time since it started last week. the feeling is more towards the left n i also notice that my uvula is deviated to the left. i have had episodes of throat allergies for the past few years n i used to feel itchy sensations in my throat. i used to rub the back of my throat with my tongue n the itchyness would subside. i have been doing this for the past 4-5 years. kindly help diagnose the problem. thank you

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of feeling of obstruction in the throat which could be due to granular pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection and due to gastroesophageal reflux disease. . Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to avoid eating and drinking acidic , spicy and hot food and beverages . Do warm saline gargles. You should start with combination of anti inflammatory medication along with antibiotic medication. Drink plenty of fluids and take diet rich in multivitamins. If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days then consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and go for swab test. Go for sputum test as well if required and start treatment as per proper diagnosis. Sip warm water after every few minutes.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
