What Causes Feeling Of Fullness In Stomach?

Hey, I have eaten little to nothing over the past week but I constantly have the sensation of feeling full, even to the point where it is unsettling. And when I do eat, I either 'digest' it really quickly or feel sick to the point of throwing up. I am anemic and take a pill of 30mg per day and have had previous instances with bulimia previous to this, I am debating seeing a doctor. Any help?

Hi

Thanks for your query.

Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Constant feeling of fullness and either digesting quickly or throwing up indicate that your are suffering from sort of gastroenteritis.

I would hence advise you the following:

Get the stool and blood tested as anyway you have anemia and taking Iron too.
Stop iron for a few days for the proper stool tests review after 4 days.
If there is any evidence of infection you need a course of definitive antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics for 5 days.
Supportive treatment in the form of a PPI like OMeprazole, Domperidone and antacid.
Hopefully this will help you fully.
If it does not help you fully then you need further clinical evaluation by a Gastroenterologist, ultrasonography, CT scan of abdomen, upper GI Endoscopy and colonoscopy to find the exact cause and get treated accordingly.
Also identify the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the problems and stop these altogether.
If there is any stress or anxiety, you have to get control over these to get proper results.

Take Care
