What Causes Fatigue While Suffering From Low Blood Cell Count?

Hi, I have low white blood cell count. It has been below normal for the past 4 years of CBC tests. I have been experiencing severe fatigue on and off for years also. Debilitating fatigue on some days. Recently I have been experiencing muscle weakness and shortness of breath. Last week I had a nuclear stress test to rule out any heart issue since my brother died at 45 and my dad at 71 both from heart attack. I m assuming the test did not show anything conclusive as they let me go home, lol, and I have not heard back with results as of yet. But, is the low count something to be concerned with?

Hi,

A low blood count can cause fatigue dear but why is it so we have to find the reason for the same. You should have a peripheral blood smear done.

Also, I advise you a thyroid function test as it is one of the commonest cause of unexplained fatigue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
