What Causes Fatigue And Elevated Blood Sugar Level When Suffering From Goiter?

I have a goiter . I had a needle biopsy done (11) that did not indicate anything severe or of concern. I cough a lot, choke on liquids, and I always feel like someone is choking me. I have two masses on my thyroid. My TSH level was 0.829 and the sensitivity was High. I am always fatigued, my blood sugars are out of control. I was told to wait 6 months and come back for an ultrasound and more bloodwork.

It's likely that you are suffering from pharyngeal diverticulum. A proper evaluation by an ENT surgeon will be useful. Barium swallow and indirect laryngoscopy will help in arriving st a proper diagnosis. Thyroid to cause so much of symptoms should be really large which is usually visible from outside or ultrasound. Swallowing disorders are common in patients with thyroid swelling and is attributed to be psychological than anatomical.

Dear friend, Greetings from HCM. I understand your concern , YES thyroid abnormalities do cause insulin resistance and high glucose levels. As i see you are suffering from hypothyroidism. you need to consult your doctor and get the treatment. You have to start thyroxine supplements soon. once the thyroid hormone reaches normal limits, your glucose also will come back to normal. Thanks and do contact us for more queries
