Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is sleeping too much. he seems unable to stay alert. We have been to the clinic last Tuesday and last evening to the Urgent Care. They have not found any abnormality via blood & urine tests, a Ct scan of his head (after falling out of bed). I continue to be concerned because he is sleeping more & more. I have tried to get him up but he sits up only a few minutes and falls asleep in his chair. Often with water or whatever in his hand. I am at my wit s end!
Hi I need to know more about his condition. Does he has any medical condition ? For now I can tell that low thyroid hormones can cause sleepiness or obstructive sleep apnea which is a disease that leads to breathing stopping attacks can cause that. There are many other causes as well. I need to know more details about your husband in order to help you. Regards
