Hello,
I have gone through your question. I need to know the age of your husband. You should also have told from which disease he is suffering and on what medication he is on. You should also tell the doctor any family history of
heart disease, Alzheimer's disease,
memory loss, etc.
In my opinion, he may need some test:
1. CT of Head
2. ECG
3.
Thyroid Function Test (T3, T4, TSH)
4. PET scan (may be costly but if you can do, its better)
5. Routine
Blood Test.
Meanwhile, please do not allow him to drive or go outside on his own. Vitamin B complex can be given.
Vitamin B12 rich diet can be given.
The above tests must be done. If PET can't be done, it's ok.
Hope this helps. Keep faith. Do not worry. There are very good doctors. You can always consult them. These problems are quite common among mid-aged to elderly men population.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
