What Causes Episodes Of Shivering?

My husband has occasional episodes where his whole body judders. It seems to happen when he becomes cold quickly. It doesn t have to be freezing - just a bit colder than he is dressed for. He just had the worst one yet in a nice warm house as he was putting out some plates and he couldn t let them go. Last time was way back in Spring. He s gradually recovering with hot water bottles and blankets round him. He felt this time that all his muscles locked up which has never happened before.

In my opinion ,your husband needs to be evaluated thoroughly by a Physician..and get done some blood tests..for example..blood sugar level,thyroid profile ,and if he has got fever ?for that get fever checked by thermometer at home,as some untreated body infection can cause these symptoms too.
As there can be many causes but most common are deranged blood sugar level,abnormal thyroid hormones level,some infections (bacterial ,viral),and wether your husband is on some medicines ,as side effects of some medicines can cause these symptoms..
