What Causes Emotional Swings After A Partial Vaginal Hysterectomy?

Good evening. I am 3.5 week post op partial vaginal hyst. Since my hyst I have had been on a emotion roller coaster which I wasn t expecting since they left my ovaries. Over the weekend I had a totally out of character experience of rage, it scared me, my children and my husband. Do you think that OTC hormone health supplements would help or should I visit my PCP?

Hi
Greetings
I presume that your ovaries and cervix were not removed. We don't know the functional status of your ovary before and after the surgery. you have not mentioned your age and other associated medical conditions.
your symptoms are mimicking a low hormonal state commonly seen after total hysterectomy where ovaries also removed.
Even if we retain the ovaries it will not function life long .So I suggest you to get a hormonal analysis of FSH to know the ovarian status and then take supplements.Hope my answer helps you. Regards
