What Causes Elevated TSH Levels During 5 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

My wife is 5 weeks pregnant. She has TSH reading of 4.29 and hemoglobin 11.2. I believe the thyroid is on higher side even though it s less than upper limit and hemoglobin less than the minimum level. My question is can she continue taking RB Tone tonic for iron deficiency and will starting thyroid medication now help reduce the thyroid levels

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I appreciate your concern for your wife
Her thyroid test is within normal range if you can upload me complete reports I will be able to guide you better
As far as low hemoglobin is concerned she needs to continue with iron tonic as her hemoglobin is low and this is also recommended to replenish the iron stores

Meanwhile i would advise her to take green leafy vegetables, jaggery whole grains fresh fruits
Citrus fruits like lemon and oranges to be taken regularly

Hope this answers your question
thanks for your question
Best wishes
